Six students pursuing professional HVAC/R careers awarded hilmor scholarships

After reviewing more than 550 essays from current and future HVAC/R students, hilmor announced its 2017 winners for the annual Retool Your Future contest.

The winners were awarded a prize package consisting of a $5,000 scholarship, an HVAC/R Starter Kit, travel to the 2017 AHR Expo and a hilmor merchandising Green Wall donated to their school.

The 2017 Retool Your Future contest winners:

Bradley Braziel focuses on teaching history at the secondary and university levels and plans to work in residential HVAC/R and commercial refrigeration.

assie Garland is an apprentice for Robinson Realty Solutions in Collinsville, Illinois, and hopes to continue working on residential installations as well as with commercial systems.

Timothy Kauffman plans to enter the HVAC/R workforce or continue his education in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in HVAC/R engineering technology.

Ningkang (Ryan) Jiang, who will complete a refrigeration foundation program from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in Burnaby, British Columbia in June of this year, and plans to pursue a career in medicine, law or teaching.

Mark Sanders will graduate in May 2018 from Northeast State Community College in Blountville, Tennessee and wants to start his own HVAC/R Company.

Nate Whiteford is enrolled at North Hennepin Technical College in Eden Prairie, Minnesota and is preparing for career in HVAC/R.
