Meet Stacey Bright

In our October Women In PHCP spotlight, we invite you to meet Stacey Bright, VP of Marketing at XOi Technologies!

PHCPPros: What is your role in the PHCP industry?

Bright: I am the VP of Marketing at XOi Technologies. We’re a SaaS company that focuses on creating technology for the field service industry. Our goal is to empower techs to safely capture — and access — critical job site information, launch remote support, and provide their customers photos and videos of recommended and completed work.

PHCPPros: How and why did you decide to enter a career in the PHCP industry?

Bright: I worked in the transportation industry for 14 years, had a quick stint in fintech recharging my startup chops, but wanted to ultimately get back to my blue collar roots. I was very fortunate to be introduced to XOi’s Founder and CEO, Aaron Salow, who also has blue collar roots. Aaron was (and still is!) passionate about field service and bringing technology to this very underserved industry. That passion was contagious, and once I saw how tech positively disrupted the field service industry, I immediately made the switch and haven’t looked back.

PHCPPros: What have been some of your career highlights?

Bright: Honestly, my current position as VP of Marketing at XOi has been a career highlight. It’s invigorating to be part of a company that brings technology to a traditionally underserved industry. We’re very focused on creating technology for good — the company was founded with a goal of bridging the skilled trades gap in the field service industry. The mission of XOi is very noble, in my opinion. And when the mission is to do good — create a product that is helping essential businesses save money, time and recruit a new generation of workers — it’s very easy for me to be passionate about what I do.

PHCPPros: What are your thoughts on mentorship for women?

Bright: I’ve worked in predominantly male-driven industries for the majority of my career, so support and guidance from women who had broken into these fields before me was important. Fifteen or 20 years ago, as I was coming into my own as a marketer, I learned from many incredible women who were not only strong and adept at business but also kind and powerful communicators. Their example taught me a lot, and I feel it’s my responsibility to pass what I learned from them to everyone who works for me, particularly women.

I always believe in paying it forward. A big part of leadership is preparing people for the next step of their careers. As a manager, I have always been mindful of the fact that I’m helping shape the next generation of leaders in our industry, and I encourage women on our team to recognize and go for professional opportunities. I take an active interest in equipping them to thrive in the workplace. The relationships we build allow me to share my experiences and to learn from their perspectives. Outside of the office, I’m also active in an ongoing group of marketing professionals who get together every month to discuss all things marketing – new trends, new technology, analytics. It’s people I’ve met throughout my career, and we’re able to keep each other connected and engaged.

PHCPPros: What do you think the PHCP industry can do to better recruit and retain women?

Bright: There are so many women in this industry who are incredibly intelligent and bring an endless amount of passion, knowledge and expertise to the table. I believe the best way to recruit and retain women to PHCP is to tell the stories of the women who have already blazed the trail. Activities like this spotlight are so important and open up the industry to show how women are actually integrated into high-level positions. It's encouraging that these stories are being told.

PHCPPros: Is there anything from your personal life you would like to highlight?

Bright: I am truly blessed to have had successful careers in multiple industries—transportation, fintech, and now field service. I really do love my job — helping educate companies on the use of technology to better their business is so fun and exciting. At XOi in particular, hearing consistent, positive feedback from customers on how we have streamlined their business, increased their revenue, and reduced expenses never gets old.
