Wheatland Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, has announced that its SureThread continuous weld standard pipe has been upgraded to the ASTM A53, Type F, Grade B standard (formerly, SureThread was Grade A). Because of this specification change, SureThread will qualify for a broader range of applications where Grade B is required. SureThread is the only continuous weld standard steel pipe made in the USA. Contractor preferred, it's easier to work with than electric resistance welded (ERW) pipe because of its uniform grain structure, which makes it the ideal product for bending, cutting and threading. This means that tooling lasts longer, which keeps costs down and rework to a minimum.
