Ruth Beschloss Passes Away

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ruth Beschloss, the beloved wife of Morrie Beschloss — PVF Industry veteran and columnist for The Wholesaler magazine. Ruth was a woman filled with adventure, charm and beauty — and The Wholesaler will celebrate her spirit in an upcoming issue of the magazine. For now, please read Ruth's obituary, below.

Ruth Katherine Greenwald Beschloss

Ruth Katherine Greenwald Beschloss, born in Chicago on October 13, 1933, passed away peacefully in her Rancho Mirage, California, home on July 26, 2021. Ruth was the daughter of Samuel Greenwald and Pearl Kramer Greenwald. One of her fondest childhood memories was fishing with her father, earning her the nickname “Little Sam.” Ruth, who attended Bennington College and the University of Illinois, was an ardent lover of children and animals, a skilled horseback rider, and a passionate world traveler, including to Europe, Asia and Africa. She enjoyed meeting new people, experiencing diverse cultures, and making many wonderful friends during her lifetime. Ruth is survived by her husband of 67 years, Morris R. Beschloss, (married November 13, 1954), her two sons, Michael (Afsaneh) and Steven (Kirsi-Marja), and was blessed with four wonderful grandchildren, Alexander, Cyrus, Sara and Katrina. She is also survived by her sister, Frances Horwich, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be private.
