Anhydrous (dehydrated) ammonia, which is commonly used in industrial facilities as a refrigerant for cooling and freezing, is a highly corrosive substance. Its widespread use as a refrigerant is one reason why vacuum pumps have, historically, been considered disposable HVAC tools. The new NAVAC Ammonia Vacuum Pump pushes back against this wasteful trend with a stainless-steel inlet port and corrosion-resistant pump, protecting against ammonia’s adverse effects for a significantly lengthened product lifespan.
