Uponor North America is making it even easier for plumbing professionals to expand their business into the residential fire sprinkler market by providing online access to AquaSAFE™ Level I training.
The course, which was previously only available in the classroom at Uponor Academy in Apple Valley, Minn., is now also offered on-demand from the Uponorpro.com website.
"We understand it isn’t always easy for busy contractors to travel to our factory for classroom training," said Eric Skare, product manager, fire safety at Uponor. "Offering our AquaSAFE Level I training online gives our customers the ability to complete the course on their own time and at their own pace."
The online training course, which consists of nine videos and takes approximately two hours from start to finish, is available for purchase on the Uponorpro.com website under the Training + Education tab in the Online Training section. The cost for the course is $50 and covers everything a licensed plumbing contractor needs to know about installation requirements for Uponor AquaSAFE fire sprinkler systems. After plumbers receive their Level I online training certificate, they are ready for Level II jobsite training, which can be coordinated through an Uponor manufacturer’s representative.
"Requirements for residential fire sprinklers are continuing to expand across North America," Skare added. "Once plumbers become trained installers for Uponor AquaSAFE, they can go out there and get the business that can differentiate them from their competition."
The AquaSAFE Level I online training is a new facet of the Uponor Academy program, which encompasses classroom learning at the factory, jobsite training and free, on-demand webinars for residential and commercial PEX plumbing, fire safety, radiant heating/cooling, hydronic piping and pre-insulated piping systems.
