Experts know best, but sometimes you want to hear straight from the source. We’ve decided to periodically check in with our team members and industry friends to learn about the wellness practices that have made the biggest differences in their day-to-day lives, with the goal of helping tradespeople with a new daily tip or two!
First up is our Sales Executive Laura Brown. Laura wears many hats and is a cheerleader for all at our company. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, cooking, and spending time with her three sons. Below are a few daily habits straight from Laura that continue to strengthen her physical and mental health!
1. POTASSIUM helps with fluid balance in the body, which is vital for overall hydration. If your body parts cramp, it is a huge aid to combat the issue — especially in the middle of the night.
2. TRIPLE MAGNESIUM supports muscle function and recovery. If you work out a lot, it can also help reduce muscle cramps, promote proper muscle function and aid in post-exercise recovery. Magnesium supports better sleep quality as well, as it helps regulate the body’s stress response and promotes relaxation.
3. RUCKING is walking or hiking while carrying a weighted backpack, or rucksack. It activates the entire body, which can preserve and increase muscle mass. For the average person, a 30-minute walk may burn about 125 calories. However, if you throw on a rucksack, you will burn closer to 325 calories on the same walk. It is also incredible for your posture; rucking naturally pulls the shoulders back and takes off pressure in the lower back while strengthening your upper back. I strongly recommend this way of walking!
4. PROTEIN BARS: Eating the right amount of protein daily for your weight keeps you feeling fuller longer and helps reduce calorie intake, which can assist with weight management. Protein can also boost your metabolism, allowing your body to burn more calories at rest. I eat a David protein bar every day. With 150 calories and 28 grams of protein, it is satisfying and keeps me feeling content!
5. LEMON WATER: I drink 18 ounces of lemon water before my coffee. Drinking it first thing in the morning helps replenish your body with fluids after a night’s sleep and gets you hydrated to start your day! Lemon water also supports liver functions, and as lemons are rich in Vitamin C, it can help strengthen your immune system. Lemon water can freshen our breath due to its natural antibacterial aids as well.
