PHCPPros recently launched a new rep agency specifically for brand ambassadors in the PHCP community, PROS REPS. Our clients include highly skilled and influential professionals who showcase their profession, love of the trades, and the products they use and install to their thousands of social media followers.

PROS REPS Ambassador Jeff DeMassari has amassed more than 200,000 followers on his Instagram page, @jeffjdemhvac, by showcasing his daily HVAC work and sharing tricks of the trade. Read our Q&A to learn more about his journey to the trades and the advice he has for both fellow and aspiring tradespeople!

PHCPPros: How did you enter a career in the trades?

DeMassari: I entered as a 19-year-old parts runner just trying to make a few bucks. A few days after running parts for a company, I was asked to move into a “helper” position and fell in love with the trade.

PHCPPros: What is your specialty within the trades?

DeMassari: I have been known for doing really clean installs and taking a large amount of pride in all of my work.

PHCPPros: Why did you decide to start using social media to share what you do with the world at large?

DeMassari: I started using social media to help generate more work during the slow season. That took a huge turn once I saw the positive impact I was having in the trade. I then turned my focus to helping others master their craft.

PHCPPros: What is your favorite type of content to share with your followers? What gets the most engagement?

DeMassari: I enjoy showing off my work, making reels showing specific situations and how to overcome them, and bringing new products or tools to people’s attention to make the job easier.

PHCPPros: What kind of advice would you give to people in the industry who may want to do something similar to you on social media?

DeMassari: I often tell people that if they want to be noticed for their craft, they have to stay consistent on improving. Never settle for being comfortable; settling with being comfortable will never allow you to stand out.

PHCPPros: How do you think the industry can use social media as a tool to encourage the next generation to join the trades?

DeMassari: The industry is doing a great job right now with using social media. I’ve seen firsthand how young men and women in the trade have been influenced in a positive way by social media.

PHCPPros: What kind of advice would you give people who are looking to enter the trades?

DeMassari: Anyone who enters the trade should always remember to stay patient. Mastering this trade takes a long time. This trade is constantly evolving and bringing new things to the table.

PHCPPros: Is there anything from your personal life that you'd like to highlight?

DeMassari: One thing everyone should know about me is that I want everyone I help in this trade to be better than me as an installer or tech. The amount of joy I get when I see people who have taken my advice or knowledge and turned it into their own is amazing.
