Each year, the Clean Water Bash brings the plumbing industry together for a night of fun with a greater purpose — raising funds to support global access to clean water. The event takes place each November, and 2025’s Bash was one for the books. What began as an industry-driven fundraiser has grown into a must-attend event in Nashville, known for its energy, creativity and impact. The Wholesaler spoke with Dennis DeBlock, national business development manager, Ariston USA, about how the event got its start, the industry support behind it, and how the funds raised translate into real-world clean water solutions.

The Wholesaler: Tell us about the event everyone is talking about — the Clean Water Bash.

Dennis DeBlock: The Clean Water Bash (CWB) is a fundraiser that started eight years ago to help fund the work of Living Waters for the World (LWW). LWW is a nonprofit organization that trains, equips and supports volunteers in forming global clean-water mission partnerships. These mission partnerships empower international communities to install and sustain water purification systems and health education programs that transform lives.

The CWB takes place at The Standard at the Smith House, a private club in downtown Nashville, and it always features the Nashville Yacht Club Band, which rocks and has multigenerational appeal. Attendees dance the night away and take breaks to bid on items in a silent auction, including several donated by sponsors — even some fancy bidet toilet seats. The atmosphere is always lively and fun, supported by people who believe clean water is important, including many in the plumbing industry.

TW: Spill the details on the event — attendance numbers, funds raised, and most of all, how the theme came to life.

DD: In keeping with the ’70s/’80s vibe, we decided to go full tropical and rock a “Magnum, P.I.” theme, complete with mustaches, Hawaiian shirts and Mai Tais. Attendees were encouraged to channel their inner Tom Selleck, and we weren’t disappointed with the results. Nearly 150 people showed up in mustachioed, island style, ready to support this worthy cause to the tune of $50,000. Fake mustaches and Hawaiian leis were handed out at the door, making for a magical evening in support of a great cause.

TW: How have manufacturers, distributors and other industry partners supported the Bash over the years, and what role do sponsors play in bringing the event to life?

DD: It has been truly heartwarming to see the plumbing community come together to support such a noble cause. No matter your political views, everyone can get their head around the idea that people — especially kids — deserve clean water to drink. We depend on these sponsors as our primary source of funding for the event and love having their owners, employees, reps and customers join in the festivities.

Sponsors like Hirsch Pipe and Supply and American Valve have been involved since the beginning, making this event part of their annual calendars. Ariston USA (American Standard Water Heaters and HTP) has stepped in as the headliner, adding its own flair to the event. Without their help, and the support of others, this event would not be the annual success it has become.

TW: Where do the funds raised get directed, and how do those dollars translate into real-world clean water solutions?

DD: While this is primarily an organization consisting of volunteer labor, there is a cost associated with coordinating efforts both in the U.S. and abroad. We are very fortunate to have several “in-country” networks with staff who can identify communities in need, connect them with potential partners, and then serve as a liaison between all partners once covenants are signed. These networks are the glue that make the organization work, and we are thrilled to support them through this event.

TW: This is such a natural fit for the PHCP industry to foster and grow. How can companies get involved year-round?

DD: First off, we appreciate the support of so many water industry partners who help make the Clean Water Bash possible. Those of us who make our living in plumbing know how essential clean water is to healthy, thriving communities — and how easy it can be to take that access for granted in a country like the United States.

We welcome both company and individual financial support through donations to Living Waters for the World. Visit www.livingwatersfortheworld.org to donate, organize a clean water team to help install a system in a community in need, or reach out to me at [email protected] to sponsor or attend the 2026 event, which will feature a “Love Boat” theme.
