New PHCC chapter organized in South Carolina

December 1, 2015

The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors—National Association (PHCC) is pleased to announce the formation of the first PHCC-affiliated state chapter in South Carolina.

Officially chartered in September 2015 as a PHCC-affiliated association in South Carolina, the chapter has elected officers, identified event goals for 2016 and established a recruiting strategy to bring on new members to the organization. The national PHCC office will provide administrative support until full services are established at the state level.

The South Carolina chapter will focus on providing these key benefits of membership: education, a voice in the national and state political arena and peer groups/networking. Planning is in progress for education and networking events in 2016, including attendance at PHCC’s national Legislative Conference, May 18 and 19 in Washington, D.C.

“We are excited to welcome the PHCC of South Carolina into the PHCC family,” said PHCC President Chip Greene, Greene & Associates, Macon, Ga. “We’re working with local members and industry partners to establish a strong state affiliate to give contractors easy access to the education, training, regulatory and legislative support that can put them a step ahead of the competition. Thanks to a combined effort, this chapter is becoming a reality.”

During the initial organizational meeting held in August, Steering Committee Member Tom Wilbert, Carolina Cool, Inc., Myrtle Beach, S.C. stated to his fellow organizers, “We made history today, and should all be proud that we’re building a better future for our industry and the citizens of South Carolina.” The meeting was sponsored by A.O. Smith, with support also provided by Hughes Supply, Ferguson Supply and Weeks-Williams-Devore.

Chapter officers include: President—Gary Goodwin, Twin Systems, LLC, Aiken, S.C., president; Vice President—Joe Miller, AAA Accurate Backflow Testing & Repair, LLC, Lexington, S.C.; Secretary—Anja Smith, All Clear Plumbing, Greenville, S.C.; Treasurer—Tom Wilbert, Carolina Cool, Inc., Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Directors at Large—Chris Corley, Corley Plumbing Air Electric, Greenville, S.C.; Justin Goodwin, Twin Systems, LLC, Aiken, S.C.; Associate Directors at Large—Jason Brantley, Weeks-William-Devore, Matthews, N.C.; and Jodi Thomason, Hughes Supply, Aiken, S.C.
