F.W. Webb Company has announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the Collins Pipe & Supply Co. location in Aston, Pennsylvania. Collins Pipe & Supply Co. is a wholesale distributor of engineered specialties, pipe, valves and fittings (PVF) with headquarters in East Windsor, Connecticut. Collins Pipe & Supply Co will continue to own and operate its eight other locations. The transaction is expected to close mid-December 2019.
“All of the large national PVF firms now have locations in Philadelphia, so it became clear to us that our customers in the greater Philadelphia area and neighboring states would be better served by a much larger, more diversified company that still treats their people and their customers like family,” said Brian Tuohey, president and owner, Collins Pipe & Supply Co. “This has become a great collaborative effort by two strong independent companies to work together to the best benefit of both our Aston team and their customers.”
Poised to celebrate its 100-year anniversary, Collins Pipe & Supply Co. has deep roots in the industrial pipe, valves and fitting industry. Its 18,000 square-foot-facility in Aston services industrial end users and contractors who support the oil and gas refinery industry and the power and process markets in the greater Philadelphia area. Once the transaction is finalized, the Aston staff will become a part of the F.W. Webb team.
“It means a lot to us that Collins Pipe & Supply Co. is entrusting us with their valued customers and talented associates. We are committed to delivering the same level of personalized, high-quality service to ensure customers have the best possible experience,” said Jeff Pope, president, F.W. Webb.
F.W. Webb owns and operates 24 locations in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, including a wholesale store in Allentown, Pennsylvania, which opened in 2014 and marked the company’s first location in the area. The nearly 1-million-square-foot F.W. Webb Central Distribution (CD) facility in Londonderry, New Hampshire, and the company’s stocking hub in Piscataway, New Jersey, will support and provide regular stock replenishment to the new Aston location.
“This opportunity couldn’t have presented itself at a better time. It has been a goal of F.W. Webb to expand our presence and industrial capabilities into the Pennsylvania market,” said Bob Mucciarone, chief operating officer, F.W. Webb. “We look forward to further growing the business in Aston by broadening the product mix and bolstering inventory levels and delivery capabilities through our strong distribution network.”
